MY NARRATIVE

My AS production was a thriller/ action film. In my film opening the narrative starts off with a cliff hanger, leaving the audience filled with tension and mysteriousness. I think that my film most follows Todorov, with the concept of binary opposites, using a protagonist and an antagonist. However, my film opening doesn't follow Todorov's linear narrative structure as the film starts off with a disruption/ problem and the rest of the film tries to solve this disruption. Eventually a new equilibrium is reached and there is peace. By starting off with a disruption in my film opening, the audience are immediately hooked as they want to know whats going to happen to the protagonsist and if she ever reaches her family again, thus this builds up tension and suspense for the audience.

  1. Open with an overview of the production.
What is the usual format of narrative in a film opening? (how does an opening introduce narrative and theme?)
Use terms such as enigma, jeopardy
"As far as editing is concerned, my narrative..."
